The Eckford Sweet Pea Society of Wem will be holding its 27th Annual Sweet Pea Show on Saturday 18 July and Sunday 19 July 2015.

The show is held in honour of the 18th Century nurseryman Henry Eckford who moved to Wem in 1888.

There will be over 70 classes for sweet peas from the Formal Vases to Bowls, Baskets, Plants, Floral Art & Children’s section. For more information visit the Virtual Shropshire website.

The second Whitchurch Food and Drink Festival, in association with Whitchurch Town Council, will take place on the last weekend of May. Thousands of foodies will descend on Whitchurch to feast their eyes on over 80 trade stands at the Civic Centre on May 30th and 31st.

The event will feature an outdoor food court, cookery theatre, cocktail making, celebrity chefs, live demonstrations, locally produced food and drink and free samples galore.

Whitchurch’s Seventh annual Harvest Street Festival that celebrates You, Me and the Planet takes place on Saturday 4th October 2014. The town streets will be lined with local producers, craft stalls, environmental organisations and street musicians.
